The Winnipeg Police East District Station is a new state of the art 32,000 square-foot facility that combines Police District 4 and 5 within the City of Winnipeg. The construction of this facility is the first phase of implementation for the Winnipeg Police Service's four-district model which will see the construction of three new police stations city-wide. The new police stations will follow the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building rating system. LEED is a set of internationally recognized standards for the design, construction and operation of "green" buildings.

Tractus Group was contracted to detail the light gauge steel stud framing for this intricate project. Using streamlined design and detailing practices, Tractus Group was able to reduce the complexity of this project's steel stud framing by bundling the wall construction into six different wall types and four fastener types. The entire light gauge steel stud framing was simplified for installation and purchasing economics requiring only three 11x17 detail sheets to communicate member locations, sizing, gauges, and installation details.
